Why Everyone Should Travel

It Doesn't Matter How You Get There, Where You Go, or Where You Stay Along The Way.

The mention of travel generally invokes images of a pristine lake with canoes afloat and perhaps a father and son fishing. Mom is on the porch of the rented cabin ringing a big iron bell for dinner. Or maybe at the mention of travel, you picture a New York shopping spree topped off with an incredible Italian dinner and a night on the town.

Not always so... travel has so many more aspects. With the integration of Internet into our lives, the world has become so much smaller. Now, many people are more interested than ever in traveling internationally. Affordable and accessible, global travel is becoming a common recreation as well as work practice.

Many employers are taking advantage of the global accessibility and cost effectiveness of sending employees all over the world to complete business deals. In many cultures, personal attention is essential to maintaining good business contact with international customers.

Traveling for business generally takes place by either air (airplane) or by vehicle, often company vehicles. Obviously convenience, economic and time issues play an important part in traveling for work, making air travel for long distances and travel by car for local travel the most obvious choices.

However, traveling for pleasure can take many forms. Trains have become a popular mode of transport in Europe. Seniors are joining together in bus trips to save on money, increase comfort and spend time with other like-minded seniors. Teens have always had the senior trip to look forward to. Paris, Italy and Mexico have always been popular destinations... and considered educational if you slipped in a semester or two of language.

Continent hopping and international travel are certainly not the only reasons to travel. Weekend get aways to the next state over or some historical monument nearby are great ways to get the family back together, a wonderful place and time to ask your true love to marry you or just a wonderful, relaxing get away all alone.

We travel for lots of reasons. Guys often travel to big sports games... like the Super Bowl. Girls... I'm not leaving you out but lets face it, we'd rather go on a shopping spree in New York! Historical traveling has always had its place in family get aways. Piling the kids into the station wagon and finding our way to where our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence is a right of passage for most American kids.

Where o where are we going to stay?!? Hotels, motels, hostels, even the local KOA- that's 'Kampgrounds of America' for those of you who have never had the pleasure of rolling out your sleeping bag and sleeping with the crickets and owls. Some of us are even bold enough to go from family member to family member across the states looking for a couch, extra bed or even a hammock to sleep on.

Regardless of where you go, how you get there or where you stay on your way, traveling is a delight we just shouldn't miss out on. Inexpensive vacations are just as fun as the extravagant ones. It's all in the attitude!
